Lyndon Notables Summer 2008

B-Ball in the Sky
We took the boys to a Redbirds game in late June or early July, and Lyndon was more in tune with the game than he had been before. He ate a massive hot dog and for the most part watched the game intently. A great moment when a batter hit a long fly ball into the outfield. Lyndon just turned and looked at me in amazement and smiled. All weekend he talked about "the ball in da sky" and he will still bring it up if you ask him today. He calls baseball "b-ball." He is also looking like he's going to be a lefty, which will probably bring him a three-year, $10 million contract straight out of daycare.

Wrestling at the Tomato Festival
We went to the Ripley Tennessee Tomato Festival since Shelley works for the City, and it was what you would think a small-town fair kind of atmosphere would be. It was in the upper 90's that day, so we weren't going to keep the boys out long. Lo and behold, we saw a wrestling ring and some Memphis-based wrestlers were honing their craft. Lyndon loved it, referring to it as "a big fight!" He also was angry when we decided to leave, and a little skittish of the brutes when we got his pic taken with them.

Daddy....Airplane
I traveled a lot this summer, and before each trip, I let Lyndon know that daddy was going on an airplane and the day I would return. The smart boy that he is, he would say, "Daddy. Airplane. Friday!"

I Kissed a Girl
Lyndon loves grabbing the cell phones and any other gadgets at hand. Imagine our surprise one day when I turn the corner and the song, "I Kissed a Girl" is blaring from Shelley's phone. I figured it was on her phone somewhere, but come to find out, he had somehow downloaded it!

Imagination
Lyndon's imagination is really taking off. He has begun pretending to be Spider-Man by walking on all fours across the floor and saying that he's climbing up the wall. He also roars like Hulk, stomps his foot and says "Hulk smash," and most recently says he's a sea monster and is going to eat us.

Fishing Trip
We took Lyndon and his cousin Zoe to Thunderbird Lake in hopes of them catching their first fish. They were both excited, hated the idea of Jessica and I casting for them, and neither landed one that day. However, Lyndon was extremely excited and kept saying things like "A BIG BITE!"
