Lyndonisms March 2008

Lyndon continues to develop rapidly and his vocabulary is off the charts now. Some of his quirks now include:
"Yellow" -- Apparently the color of everything on earth. Ask him the color of a certain object, and that's the answer you'll get, regardless of the actual color.

"Under the water" -- This is apparently where everything lives. This is pretty much his first sentence, and he uttered it to me during a diaper change a couple of weeks ago. He said it in reference to sharks, but also believes that monkeys, elephants and birds live under the water, too.

"I turn the page" -- When reading, he lets you know what he's doing.

"I throw away"

He also knows that pilots fly airplanes and farmers drive tractors.

Lyndon and Colin

We worried that Lyndon would be very jealous of his brother's arrival, but he really never has. Since the first day, he's been infatuated with him, saying "baby" and sniffing his head and kissing him. He also loves to hold his brother. A little rough at times but all in all, he adores his brother. I will try to remind him of that when they are a little older and he smacks him with a pan or something.

Colin

Colin has a larynx condition that causes him to squeak loudly when he sleeps. The larynx isn't fully formed, which causes the sound and also contributes to a nasty case of reflux. He's on reflux meds and also we have to add a pricey thickener to his formula every feeding. The thickener is essentially a simple gel, so I don't know why it costs $80 a box. His poop maintains that gel consistency, for those of you scoring poop at home.

After a pretty tough couple of weeks, he's doing much better. He's begun to smile a whole lot, and always coos and smiles when his diaper's being changed. Makes sense.

Another Rascal

Colin Miles Thomas arrived on January 24, 2008. Unlike Lyndon's birth, Shelley's labor was quick, efficient and pain-free. Well, it was pain free for me, anyway, despite a bathroom visit getting cut short due to the impending birth. Shelley had an epidural, so she was juuuuuuust fine. Colin weighed a massive 8 lbs, 15 oz., leading to speculation that my wife had an affair with Pau Gasol. Come to think of it, he did skip town shortly afterwards.....Hmmmm.
